In the early 1980's, a number of community members involved in Marketing in the Burlington area noticed that they were constantly being asked 
questions about Marketing by members of non-profit organizations. Some of them decided it would be an excellent idea to gather a group of marketing professionals to collectively brainstorm with individual nonprofit organizations.
The breakfast meetings began in earnest at the old Redwood Inn and Motel on Shelburne Road. They then moved to St. Paul St. and from there to Champlain College, with a couple of stops in between--one being a diner.
The real story of the Kelley Marketing Group, besides its constantly changing, dynamic membership, is the large number and wide variety of "clients" served. Over the years our clients have ranged from the A.C.L.U. to the Vermont National Guard. Among others, we have met with the Cathedral Square Corporation, Burlington Taiko, Jeh Kulu Dance Group, the Good News Garage, the Vermont Youth Conservation Corps, The Burlington Chorale Society, The Salzburg Seminar, The Burlington Irish Heritage Festival, and The Vermont Special Olympics. We feel the community has felt our impact. On more than one occasion, the Kelley Marketing Group has been featured in the Burlington Free Press as business news.
Members of The Kelley Marketing Group bring many years of marketing and advertising experience to the table. Our group consists of practitioners from a wide variety of organizations in differing sectors of the economy. They include marketing directors, public relations specialists, ad agency employees, professors, videographers, bankers, graphic designers, copywriters and marketing consultants.
The Kelley Marketing Group is continually recruiting both members and presenters.
